Love, pomegranates and motherhood..

A journey not without its tribulations, motherhood is not for the faint hearted. Mind you I say this on a bad day, like today, preceded by a sleepless night. Ask me after an eight hour night’s sleep and I’ll speak of love. Conditional ? Maybe – But I am also human.
What I find intriguing when speaking to women who have mothered many nights ago is how they have forgotten about it all. “It’s all a blur” they say. Isn’t sleep deprivation used as a form of torture, would you forget THAT?. For I will remember and I will tell the new ones how difficult it was and how it will pass… as that’s what I am hoping.. it will pass to a place when day time parenting is what’s required. Eight to Eight and that’s when you’ll see unconditional love flowing out of me.. Here’s to you my Baby. Thank you for making me into a mom.
We celebrate mother’s day in Jordan on the 21st of March. And my mom loves pomegranates and is visiting at the moment so I thought she would like this pink concoction.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rock melon
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 cups water
Method : Simply place all the fruits with the water and sugar in a blender for 3-5 minutes. Sieve into glasses and add ice. Bon Appetite!
